Valiant Armoury swords
and edged collectibles are designed to be real swords. They are not
to be used in theatrical-style reenacting except where specifically
named for that purpose.
You should not strike your sword against another sword. Swords are
subject to the laws of Physics. No matter how strong the steel is in
any sword or edged collectible, it can nick or chip when struck
against another sword or something hard. While our practical and
functional swords and edged collectibles are designed to be used for
soft target cutting only i.e. tamashigiri (the cutting of mats),
they should only be used for that purpose by well trained
professionals. Never perform cutting exercises without proper
training and supervision. While Valiant Armoury swords and edged
collectibles certainly could be used to cut many other items or
objects, this is not their intended use and it is quite dangerous to
do so and any use other than for its intended purpose will void the
warranty.

The Praetorian Roman Gladius
Swords: Our "Praetorian" roman swords
are named in honor of the Praetorian guard that was created in 27 BC
by the Roman Emperor Augustus. They are Mainz style Roman Gladius
Swords. These types of swords first appeared shortly after Mainz was
founded as the Roman permanent camp of Moguntiacum in 13 BC by the
Roman General Drusus. The swords made at Mainz were generally sold
to the people of the lands to the north of Mainz. They are
characterized by a slight waist running the length of the blade and
a long point. The Praetorian Roman Swords features a sharp, hand
hammer forged 19 and 3/4 inch leaf shape blade. The handle is
alternating brass and Macassar ebony hardwood. A leather scabbard
for this roman sword is included.
