Falchions are found in different forms from around the 11th century up to and including the sixteenth century. Ours features a 24 blade with a beautifully shaped hand guard. The handle is custom finger grooved Macassar Ebony Wood with solid steel spacer inserts. A genuine leather scabbard is included with this sword.
Dagesse Swords
Overall Length:
38"
Dagesse Swords:
Italian in design, our
14th century cut & thrust sword is a tapered 27 -inch blade that features
a wide fuller running almost the whole length of the blade that lightens the
weight of the blade without weakening it. The broad based blade tapers to a
deadly point and is balanced out by a slight down curved steel guard and
wheel pommel. With the stout hard wood handle for a secure grip and the
excellent balance sought after by professional men at arms through out
Europe, these swords are an outstanding close-quarters weapon.
A
handmade
brown genuine
leather scabbard is included.
These are real swords. They are not to be used in theatrical-style reenacting except where specifically named for that purpose and designed for that specific use. While these practical and functional swords are designed for soft target cutting (such as tamashigiri - the cutting of mats) they should only be used for that purpose by well trained professionals. Never perform cutting exercises without proper training and supervision. It is dangerous to use these swords in any manner other than their intended purpose. Abuse or misuse will endanger the user. |
